Net Electronic Poker Machines: Tactics for excitement Poker 3
Apr 022016

Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve closing poker table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a large pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest enthusiasts in the world. While competing in internet poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of $40, 000. Gus more often than not buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is assumed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total dollar value. I think television can alter our perception of the real world at times. The best poker players in the world may be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be found participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in big stakes omaha hi-low and hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
