Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Based on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the wild west in a great game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the croupier, unlike most other poker games that gamblers play against other players. By playing against the dealer, starting players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more knowledgeable individuals taking their $$$$.
Another Pai Gow benefit is the relatively leisurely game pace, newcomers should be able to take their time and strategize without having to make frenzied selections.
It is also easier to wager on for a long time with basically a small amount of cash after all, to lose, each of your hands has to be lower than each of the dealer’s hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the casino gets 7 cards face down.
A five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
