Gus Hansen enjoyed an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve closing poker table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a huge pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While betting on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the table with the minimum buy-in.
Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Gus is accepted to be 1 of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total amt.. I believe television can skew our perception of the real world sometimes. The greatest players in the world might be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in high stakes omaha hold’em and texas hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he use his abilities in money games?
